LOGAN

We found out Feb 18th that Logans cancer has come back. The doctors found it after a bone marrow biopsy. His bone marrow has leukemia cells but hasn’t reached his blood yet. It’s the same cancer cells as before and we don’t know how they were able to survive the chemotherapy and transplant!

They are sending them to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to be trained to fight cancer. Kind of like boot camp for his cells to be used later to fight his cancer. It’s called Car-T therapy. So...there’s a chance we will have to go to Philadelphia for treatment next month. He’s not the best candidate for this but we’re doing it in case we need it. Remission and a bone marrow transplant is still the ultimate goal and the best chance for him. ( I know that’s complicated )

Tomorrow we will be admitted to start chemotherapy!

Update from Krystal:

This tough kid started the day with surgery and now having a treatment to isolate his lymphocytes. They are sending them to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to be trained to fight cancer. Tomorrow we will be admitted to start chemotherapy! We’re staying strong, determined and positive. I can tell you we are still scared though. Prayers and breathing are needed today!

Some of you have asked and yes, we will be setting up a go-fund-me for Logans hospital bills again. Our friend Jennifer Armer

Armer Foundation For Kids

is also taking donations for Logan. It’s so amazing to have this support. It’s needed and appreciated! His hospital bills for last year alone ( 2020) were 2.2 million dollars.

All worth it for this awesome young man

Logan is getting settled into his room. Not sure for how long. Started chemo yesterday after a lumbar puncture. That F-ing cancer grows so fast! This chemo is specifically targeted to Logans cancer. We just need it to start kicking butt!! And fast! He got his laptop set up for his video editing. And of course his Xbox set up for gaming. Ryan and I made some nutrient packed food and I brought it up today. We’re switching him to an anti-cancer diet! He’s doing great.

Update:

Logan is responding very well to the chemotherapy regime. In just one week the cancer is undetectable in his blood! He was able to come home and continue treatment outpatient for the next few weeks. Hoping to get to transplant next month

So every day we go into clinic and get chemo infusion. His cancer is going down but also his immune system. We are watching him closely for fevers or infection. Today he needed a blood and platelet transfusion. He looks good until you see his labs on paper, they tell a different story than his cool and charming demeanor. Lol! He’s full on teenage mode. Responding with grunts, asking for more food and complaining about the WiFi speed in the hospital. He makes everyone laugh, including himself.

Juliette is her fantastic self! Always strong, silly and sweet. Enjoying her time with GG and working out hard in the gym preparing for state gymnastics competition next weekend! Tough, beautiful girl. She had her haircut yesterday. Thank you Dani Lewis! She absolutely loves her grown up haircut!

Thank you for all those who have reached out and all your support! #teamlogan #teamjuliette
